Software Engineer, API Platform

Pinterest is looking for an experienced API engineer to help build and run our API layer. As part of our API Core Platform team, you will design, build, and operate the API layer that backs billions of monthly page views, and ensure that it’s ready to bring inspiration to millions of more people worldwide.

What you'll do :
  • Work with peers to define the architectural direction for Pinterest’s first-party APIs, and then build it
  • Identify, prioritize, and resolve the biggest problems facing API developers and consumers at Pinterest
  • Write high quality, performant Python code that helps millions of people create a life they love, and support our peer teams throughout the company is doing the same
  • Contribute to the operation of our API service, including periodic on-call
What we're looking for :
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Experience building REST-style API endpoints between consumer clients and servers
  • Effective communication of complex technical issues to a cross-team and cross-functional audience
  • You enjoy thinking about APIs at a platform or framework level
  • Strong desire to be a core contributor to the group that designs and builds the future of API architecture at Pinterest
  • Self-awareness, and a strong desire to learn, play and grow
