Tech Lead, Ads Serving Infra

Pinterest brings millions of people the inspiration to create a life they love. Our continued success depends on the Ad Serving Infrastructure, which crunches thousands of signals in a few hundred milliseconds, to identify the most relevant ads to show to Pinners. You’ll lead a small team, which designs high-performance infrastructure systems, in order to power the most critical, revenue-generating algorithms at Pinterest.

What you’ll do :
  • Lead the vision for the Ads Serving Infrastructure at Pinterest
  • Re-architect the ad ranking systems, in order to 10x the scale, and enable more powerful methods of information retrieval
  • Build intelligent data visualizations, so that developers can tune the inner-workings of the ranking algorithms
  • Work cross-functionally, with ranking engineers and business partners, to enable new ad products and improve ad quality
  • Partner with other infrastructure teams, to up-level the development, deployment, and monitoring tools for all Ads Serving engineers
What we’re looking for :
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience owning high traffic and mission-critical distributed systems
  • A natural teacher of engineering best practices, and a culture carrier for the team
  • Loves to lead projects with ambiguous requirements
  • Mastery of at least one systems languages (Java, C++, Go)
