Localization Program Manager, Websites (Contract)

Pinterest brings millions of people the inspiration to create a life they love for everything; whether that be tonight’s dinner, next summer’s vacation, or a dream house down the road. We are looking for an entrepreneurial Program Manager experienced in websites localization, testing and maintenance to help Pinterest achieve our full potential in international markets. You will work with one or more internal teams who own Pinterest websites and content verticals. You will be responsible for understanding requirements, crafting scalable solutions to these requirements for global markets, and for the localization of workflow from request creation to job completion. This is a 6-month contract role, onsite, at our San Francisco office.

What you’ll do :
  • Design and implement scalable end-to-end localization frameworks for Pinterest websites. Plan and manage localization schedules, collaborating cross-functionally with website teams and vendors to define requirements and manage timelines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of internationalization and localization standards and best practices.
  • Ensure smooth and scalable localization handoffs and deliveries with the localization vendor and maintain regular communications with them to ensure that both sides are set up for success on an ongoing basis.
  • Analyze current pain points in workflows, identify gaps or inefficiencies, make independent decisions and actively provide recommendations for scalable solutions, and document localization workflows.
  • Maintain websites linguistic QA program by partnering with vendors and creating translation-quality scorecards for reporting to stakeholders.
  • Educate and guide engineers, product managers and designers on internationalization and localization best practices.
What we’re looking for :
  • 5+ years of experience in localization program management.
  • Experience with localization platforms, file formats and CAT tools.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated abilities to manage priorities and projects with the right balance of organizational and communication skills.
  • BA/BS in Linguistics, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and passionate about working cross-functionally and cross-culturally.
  • Experience analyzing data sets, define metrics and create dashboards that can be used to make business decisions.
  • Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of a second (or third!) language.
